The start of IF club screenings for real guerrilla film makers who wanna network and show what they can do, without an entry fee, a catch or some way to get people to some trendy, expensive bar in soho !!
The IF club is for film makers, run by film makers, who wanna create some kind of film community without all the crap, just come along, bring ya film screen it with other film makers and see what people are doing and then meet them and chat (getting away from the youtube armchair crew) !! Stuff sitting looking at films on a monitor, come see it in a cool little 30+ seater cinema with leather sofas as chairs no-one eating a meal while you are trying to watch ya film (for gods sake, whats that about roxy cinema london bridge) !! we want to see films not hear someone eating and getting up to go to the bar while ya films playing COME ON !! , the IF club is here to bring film makers together and network and hopfully inspire film makers to go off and make more films and then come back and were screen them for them and give them our feedback. Its a learning experience making films, it's also the best job in the world with the right people around. That's YOU. We will be screening a selection of films from the Halloween 48 hour film challenge 2006 and the 24 hour film challenge in 2007 as part of the Portobello film festival PLUS a selection of short films from the CANNES in a VAN crew from this year Cannes Film Festival. If three people turn up that's three people who wanna do something instead of talking about doujng it. The best way to learn film making is to make a film and learn that way ! not reading it from a book or watching others do it !! "when the camera is rolling you're learning..." johnnie oddball 2008
